Try this.
- Snooze the indexer from WDS options.
- Open RegEdit.
- Browse to the IFilterHost entry which is HKCR\Interface\{4F5385F1-F9A8-4536-9920-93E8D144DBD0}.
- Right click the folder and select Permissions...
- Add <hostname>\users to the security group (where
<hostname> is the name of your machine) and set permissions to
full control. Since the WDS service runs under LocalSystem set the
System account to Full Control as well. - Click Ok.
- Do the same for IFilter entry: HKCR\Interface\{89BCB740-6119-101A-BCB7-00DD010655AF}
- Wake the indexer back up

I got an Acer Aspire One, the one with the 8GB SSD (Solid State Drive) + 8GB SD (Secure Digital) card. It's pretty cool but Windows XP Home Edition kind of sucks. I wanted to install Kubuntu on it. It looks just as shiny (or even better) plus you get a bunch of apps along with it (OpenOffice, Kopete for chat, etc). And when all the apps are installed, it takes up less space than Windows. Read on to find out what I did.
